We gained considerable elevation but were denied the summit by some steep
headwalls. It was probably still several hundred feet to the top.
We'll have to return someday with proper technical climbing gear and give it
a serious try. For this recon mission we were traveling light and more
excited about just checking out the area than actually gaining the summit.
