After leading the climb, I decided it would be nice to take another lap on
top-rope. Here you can see me working my hands through the wide pod in
the middle of the climb--having big hands paid off for a change! Above
this point, you can tell by the wear on the rock that many resort to
laybacking, but with my large hands and forearms I was able to jam up the
entire crack. Just before the finish the crack widened even more and I
encountered the most secure chicken-wing ever! While the
first two routes we climbed this day didn't really impress us, after
climbing this one we truly felt as though we had climbed at Indian Creek!
Next time we're going to bring more friends and more cams so we can take on
some of the harder cracks in the area.
