A topo I drew up of Moor Crossing. It's a great route in that each of
the three pitches are unique and challenging in their own way. Pitch
one has one of the strangest and most difficult squeeze chimneys I've ever
climbed. Pitch two follows interesting corners and cracks to an
exposed and intimidating finish. And then there is pitch three!
It starts with a long traversing runout that gets steeper and steeper until
you finally reach a crack where you can place gear and then continue upward.
I was doing fine leading this pitch until I dropped the nuts I was trying to
place at the end of the runout. Somehow I managed, much to Angela's
horror, to catch them with a foot as they fell past. So, there I was,
at the end of that long runout standing on one foot and balancing a
carabiner of nuts on the other! In the end I managed to keep it
together and finished the pitch without further incident.
