At this point it seemed as though we were never going to make it to the top. Did this ridge just go on forever? (Would that be heaven or hell?) The ridge began to be broken into shorter and shorter sections. Each of these little walls blocked our view beyond, so it was impossible to tell how many more pitches we would have to climb. On the bright side, the climbing had eased off again and we were getting accustomed to the not-so-solid rock. My memory is not too clear, but I think we made pitch nine a rope stretcher, bypassing one ledge and simulclimbing a bit to make it to another sizeable ledge. At any rate, we covered quite some ground in 45 minutes and neglected to take any pictures of it, so we must have been busy climbing.
