A few minutes after leaving our buddy the marmot to his business, we made it
to the top of Little Shovel Pass. While this point is about 1800 feet
higher than the trailhead, the climb upwards is so gradual that we hardly
even noticed it. If you look closely to my left at about eye level
you'll see another marmot scurrying along.
